The Romania team will fly into Bucharest before getting a maxi taxi (like a taxi bus) to Medgidia. There you'll stay at the Stepping Stones centre which is perfectly designed for hosting teams with dorm rooms and lots of showers!
Each day the team will be divided into smaller groups and sent out to different Roma villages to run clubs and activities for the children. In addition, you'll help out with the feeding program and other activities at the centre where you'll be staying.
Each day you'll have your meals in the Bethlehem church, a short walk away, cooked for you by some wonderful locals, although there are wonderful fruit and veg markets and a doughnut stall just a few minutes walk from from 'home'.
On your day off you'll head to Constanta, a town on the coast of the Black Sea, as well as having regular team times, worship times and prep times for your different outreaches each day.
I had the best time while in Romania. God has completely changed me while I was there, and my testimony changed and now it has a happy ending. Before JG, I had no self confidence, but when we had to talk at a church in Romania, I felt so confident talking in front of people even without notes. God has taught me so much, one of the things is to trust Him fully because his timing is perfect. Working with the children made me come alive and also taught me what real love is. Being part of an amazing team made the experience even more memorable and I've made friends for life.
